Bloemfontein, 24 February 2021: Interstate Bus Lines would like to notify its passengers in the above-mentioned areas that due to the recent rains in the area and bad road conditions, the management of IBL has decided to suspend the normal IBL bus service in the area until further notice.
Says Stakeholder Relations Manager, Vuyo Ondala: “In the past few months, we have acquired two tipper trucks and a TLB to assist in repairing the road infrastructure in the Trusts areas, but the continuous rainfall makes it impossible to render a safe service. We are also in the process of sourcing alternative all-wheel drive type of vehicles for testing in an effort to find a lasting solution to the challenge. Under these circumstances we have to place the highest priority on the health and safety of our passengers and our employees. We recommend that our passengers make use of alternative transport until the situation has been resolved and service delivery can continue as normal. We commit to supplying additional information as and when it becomes available. We will do so by working closely with the media and the public. Passengers are requested to visit the IBL Website (www.interstate.co.za and http://ibl.pl3.co.za/) as well as our social media sites (Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn) regularly, as we will be sharing any changes to the schedule or routes online. We want our passengers to know that we are doing all in our power to resolve the situation and to not cause any further disruption to their daily routines”.
