Human Capital

Interstate Bus Lines take the view that education and training are very important priorities in South Africa. The development of the workers is not the direct result of the Skills Development Act or Skills Development Levies Act. For the past 30 years each and every person has been regarded as an individual with his / her own potential and development needs.

To address these needs an annual training needs analysis is done and combined with information from Performance Appraisals and the mentorship programmes.

This information is then utilized to identify specific training needs for individuals, work sub-sections, sections and departments and in some cases the company as a whole. These needs are then addressed in the Workplace Skills Plan for the year and reported on one year later in our Workplace Implementation Report to Government.

As a multi-dimensional organization Interstate Bus Lines strives to deliver hard skills as well as soft skills training in the language of the learner's choice.
